Once upon a time there was a client who wanted a home for their costume designs to live. The client chose a street, a house, a story, and set me to rendering the mood boards for ’13 Transylvania Avenue’.
The logo was conceived as an early twentieth century wrought iron sign with painted ceramic tiles. Electrically illuminated and still working, despite the run-down state of the property.
The house is of the Architectural style known simply as “American Haunted” and includes the popular optional feature, an Arboretum. The owners, I imagined, were of the ‘new money’ sort and had a taste for the macabre. So I gave them James Dean’s crashed Porsche as a lawn ornament. All dilapidated houses have broke-down vehicles in the front yard, after all.
The inside scene shows some of the costume designs in a playful party-setting. Spooky but lighthearted was the idea. What goes on in that creepy old house? Fun. Lots of fun.
